What is the vision and mission of TAF? Vision
The Tanoto Art Foundation connects and engages people to the art of our time. Mission
The Tanoto Art Foundation (TAF) is a Singapore-based not-for-profit art foundation. Through exhibitions and programming, TAF is dedicated to nurturing dialogues around the experience of contemporary art in Southeast Asia. We aspire to deepen the appreciation and engagement with art, creating a space where artists, audiences, and diverse voices can come together.
What makes TAF unique, compared to other private art foundations?
While existing art foundations in Asia and globally mostly serve their local art scenes, there is space to build a different type of art foundation, a private art foundation that is mid-scaled, nimble and focused on presenting the art of our time with immediacy.
What are TAF’s upcoming plans?
Through regular programming that includes conversation series, exhibitions, research and publications both in Singapore and through international collaborations, TAF endeavours to deepen the appreciation and engagement with art, creating a space where artists, audiences, and diverse voices can come together. Stay tuned for details of the upcoming programs by following us on social media or signing up to our newsletter.
Who is behind TAF?
TAF is led by Trustee, Belinda Tanoto, who is passionate about art and well versed in the field of philanthropy. Recognised for her work in human capital development, Belinda was featured in Forbes Asia’s 2019 Heroes of Philanthropy and was named the first Indonesian member of the UNICEF International Council in 2023.
How is TAF related to the Tanoto Foundation?
TAF operates independently as a not-for-profit private art foundation based in Singapore. The Tanoto Foundation’s mission is to harness the transformative power of education to realise people’s full potential and to improve lives. Belinda serves as a Trustee at both TAF and the Tanoto Foundation.
