Xiaoyu Weng

Based in New York, Xiaoyu Weng joined the Foundation’s team in 2024. She has held leadership role and curatorial positions at various international institutions. From 2021-2023, she was head of the modern and contemporary art department at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Toronto, Canada, a prestigious role encompassing oversight of exhibitions, programming, and collection growth. Prior to her tenure at AGO, she served as associate curator at the Solomon R. Guggenheim in New York, where she curated acclaimed exhibitions such as ‘Tales of Our Time’ (2016–17) and ‘One Hand Clapping’ (2018), exploring the responses of Chinese artists to globalization. Weng’s curatorial endeavors also include her curation of the fifth Ural Industrial Biennial in 2018–19 in Yekaterinburg. From 2010 to 2015, she held the position of director and curator of Asia Programs at Kadist Art Foundation.

Tobias Berger

Based in Hong Kong, Berger now serves as the Curatorial Director at Serakai Salons and Projects. Tobias was Head of Art and Curator at Large at Tai Kwun Contemporary between 2015 to 2024. From 2010-2015 Tobias served as the first Curator of Visual Arts for the M+ Museum in Hong Kong. During his career, Tobias has served in various curatorial roles for institutions across the region and globally including at the Nam June Paik Art Center (Korea), Para/Site Art Space (Hong Kong), ARTSPACE, Aukland and Museum Fridericianum (Germany). He also curated the Baltic Triennial of International Arts, the Fotofestival Manheim, Ludwigshafen and Heidelberg, the Hong Kong pavilion at the Venice Biennale, and the New Zealand pavilion at the Sao Paulo Biennial.

Yushan Liu

Based in Singapore and Shanghai, Yushan Liu joined the Foundation’s team in 2023. She previously served as the Executive Director at the Xiao Museum of Contemporary Art in Rizhao. Additionally, from 2015 to 2020, Yushan worked as a project manager at the LeRoy Neiman Center at Columbia University in New York, all while pursuing her career as a visual artist.

The Tanoto Family

The Tanoto Art Foundation is founded by the Tanoto family and led by Trustees, Belinda Tanoto and Anderson Tanoto, who are both passionate about art. The Tanoto family aims to contribute to the Southeast Asian art scene and ecosystem by creating a platform to exchange ideas, share resources, and generate knowledge.
